YTF Ung is the Norwegian Professional Transport Association's committee for young members. The committee aims to ensure that young voices are heard in the association, and to be an arena for input, sharing of experiences and engagement regarding working life in the transport sector.
What is YTF Young?
YTF Ung is an advisory committee established by the federal board of YTF The committee works on behalf of young members and elected representatives, and raises issues that are important for young people in the transport professions.
YTF Ung is not a separate membership scheme or a local group, but a committee that will contribute perspectives, suggestions and activities aimed at young people in the organization.
What works YTF Young too?
YTF Young people should, among other things:
- provide input to the federation board on matters affecting young members
- propose measures to get more young people to organize
- contribute to increased engagement and participation among young people in YTF
- help to highlight YTF towards young workers
- create meeting places and arenas for the exchange of experiences
The committee works closely with the administration and reports regularly to the federation board.
Topics in focus
YTF Ung pays particular attention to topics that are important early in working life:
- Recruitment and visibility internally and externally
- Competence and continuing education
- Job security and mental health
- Community
These themes form the basis for input, activities and events.
Young collection
YTF Ung organizes an annual Ung gathering for members and elected officials up to and including 35 years of age.
The gathering is a professional and social meeting place, with the goal of:
- strengthen engagement among young people in YTF
- increase knowledge about working life and rights
- facilitate experience sharing

The committee consists of young members from different parts of the country and from several industries in the transport sector.
