Collective bargaining agreements are the most important tool a trade union has for contributing to orderly and serious working conditions in a company.
The collective agreement, the main agreement and the Working Environment Act are integrated into the shop steward's everyday work. Every two years, the collective agreement is updated with requirements that are important to our members.

Generalization
Generalization means that parts of the collective agreement's provisions that concern individual pay and working conditions are laid down through regulations, and thus apply to all employees in the area. In this case, no employee covered by the regulations can have worse pay and working conditions than those stipulated.
Unions can apply for generalization for a specific area, and the application is decided by the Tariff Board.

Peacekeeping duty
It is not permitted to strike on matters regulated in the collective agreement as long as the collective agreement is in force.
