The ordinary negotiations on the Wholesale Agreement with the Norwegian Confederation of Employers (NHO) ended in a breakdown. YTF enters the mediation with the goal of finding a solution, but believes there must be movement from the employer side. The mediation began on Friday, September 4, with a deadline of midnight.
– We are going to mediation to reach an agreement and avoid a strike. At the same time, the solution must be good enough for our members. They should have a good financial settlement and keep up with wage developments, says Josefine Wærstad, negotiation leader in YTF .

Advance payment of sick pay is also central to the mediation. The scheme means that the employer pays the sick pay at the usual time and receives the amount refunded from Nav. Most warehouse companies already have such schemes.
– This is a basic financial security in the event of illness. When the scheme already exists in most warehouse companies, it should be possible to ensure the same security in the collective agreement, says Wærstad.
Around 700 employees may go on strike
YTF has announced the resignation of 237 members. Together with the announced withdrawal by the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions, around 700 employees may be called out on strike.
The members work, among other things, with receiving, picking, handling and shipping goods from the warehouses. A strike could therefore quickly affect deliveries to REMA 1000 stores and to businesses that receive goods from Kolly.
– These are employees who ensure that goods come from the warehouse and onto store shelves every single day. The work they do is crucial to the supply of goods. It will be noticeable if they have to stop working, says Wærstad.

Meet at work as usual
Being covered by the strike action does not mean that you are on strike now.
Those who are to be taken out on strike will receive direct information from YTF if the mediation does not proceed. Until you are notified otherwise, you should follow your work schedule and report to work as usual.
No one should stop work until they have received confirmation from YTF that the strike has been initiated and that they are covered by the withdrawal.
