Yrkestrafikkforbundet and the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (Fellesforbundet) have reached an agreement with the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (NHO/NLF) on the wage settlement in the Goods Agreement. The parties have been negotiating since Wednesday, June 3 at 12:00. They have now agreed on the outcome of this year's settlement.
Before YTF Salary and advance payments of sickness, care and parental benefits have been the most important issues.
– We have achieved good results for the freight drivers. Everyone receives a general supplement and a separate freight supplement. In addition, we receive advance payments of sick pay, care benefits and parental benefits. This has been an important demand for us, says Marius Træland, negotiation leader in YTF .

This was the result
The parties agree, among other things:
- NOK 6.50 in general supplement from April 1. This is given to everyone.
- 4 kroner in welfare allowance from April 1. This is given to everyone.
- The professional certificate supplement will be increased by 2 kroner to a total of 15 kroner from April 1.
- The minimum wage rates will be increased by NOK 5 from August 1. This only applies to those who are on the minimum wage rates.
- The food allowance rate will be increased to 114 kroner.
- Advance payment of sick pay, care benefits and parental benefits for up to four months. The scheme applies from 1 July 2027 for employees with at least six months of seniority in the company.
- The company must disclose the provider and rate for occupational pension.
- Text is included regarding emergency duty, with reference to the Working Environment Act.
- In addition, there will be local negotiations.
Everyone gets 10.50 kroner
The general supplement and the freight supplement provide a total of 10.50 kroner more per hour from April 1 for everyone who signs the agreement.
– This is money that goes to everyone. It has been important to us. A general increase is broad-based, and the freight increase goes directly into this agreement, says Træland.

Minimum wage rates are increased
The parties also agree to increase minimum wage rates from August 1.
– This hits those who earn the least from the agreement. It is important in itself, but also for the industry. When minimum wage rates are raised, it becomes more difficult to compete on low wages. It is a contribution to a more serious transport industry, says Harald Hallem, head of the national association for freight drivers in YTF .

Advance payment from 2027
One of YTF's main demands was the advance payment of sick pay, care benefits and parental benefits.
The scheme that is now being introduced will be valid for up to four months. It will come into effect on July 1, 2027 and applies to employees who have at least six months of seniority in the company.
– This is about not having to wait for money from NAV when you are sick, have a sick child or are going on parental leave. For many, it is absolutely crucial that the income comes as normal. That is why this has been an important issue for us, says Hallem.
Certificate, food allowance and pension
The professional certificate supplement will be increased from April 1, and the food allowance rate will be increased to NOK 114.
Companies must also make the provider and rate for occupational pensions visible.
– Pension is part of the salary. It should then be possible to see which scheme the company has and which rate applies, says Træland.
Local negotiations
In addition to the central negotiations, there will be local negotiations. YTF recommends that shop stewards and members use this opportunity at their own workplace. Local negotiations provide scope for raising wages based on the situation in the company, the work actually done and factors that are not always captured in the central settlement.

– Negotiating locally provides an opportunity to get to the bottom of what applies at the individual workplace. Companies are different, and in many places there may be grounds for more than the central additions. Therefore, shop stewards should use local negotiations actively, says Harald Hallem.
Now the members will decide
YTF recommends that members vote for the result when the settlement is put to a vote.
– We didn't get everything, but we have put in place the most important points: salary supplements for everyone, increased minimum wage rates and advance payments for illness and leave. It is a result we can vouch for, says Marius Træland.
YTF will return with more information about when the result of the Goods Agreement will be voted on.
