The negotiations began on Thursday, May 7, and ended with a break on Friday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. The settlement will now proceed to the Norwegian Ombudsman.
The wholesale agreement covers employees in warehousing, logistics, distribution and transportation throughout the country.
YTF negotiated together with Parat and in parallel with Fellesforbundet. On behalf of YTF The meeting was attended by negotiation leader Josefine Wærstad, shop steward Erling Kragerud from Alliance Healthcare, shop steward Marius Knudsen from Brødrene Dahl and lawyer Jeannette Kvamme.
Too much distance between the parties
YTF entered the settlement with demands for real wage growth, higher supplements for vocational certificates and demands related to sickness, nursing and care benefits.
The parties engaged in dialogue throughout the negotiations, but did not reach an agreement.
– We have had good and constructive dialogue with Virke during the negotiations, but unfortunately we have not reached a solution that we can accept on behalf of our members, says YTF's negotiation manager Josefine Wærstad.
– YTF entered the settlement with demands for real wage growth, better compensation for vocational certificates and greater financial security in the event of illness and leave. On several of the most important issues, the parties were too far apart to reach an agreement, says Wærstad.
The case now goes to the Ombudsman.
No date has yet been set for mediation. Until further notice, all members will report to work as normal.
If the parties do not agree with the Norwegian Ombudsman, there may be a strike in the area of the agreement.
– We now need help from the mediator to see if it is possible to reach a solution the parties can agree on, says Wærstad.
Members will receive notification from YTF if they are taken out on strike.
