At the representative council, 60 union representatives from all over the country gathered to discuss the budget, the action plan and the demands for this spring's wage settlement. Union leader Trude Sande welcomed the participants.

A year of success and strengthened position
The annual report for 2025 was presented by Secretary General Linda Jæger.
Among the highlights were the passage of a universal minimum wage for van drivers and an interim settlement that gave members real wage growth. By the end of 2025, YTF 13,561 members, a net increase of 117.
In 2025, 372 members enrolled in YTF's trade certificate program. About 40 percent of members now have trade certificates, higher than the national average. YTF also strengthened its visibility with 320 media reports and a radio campaign that reached nearly 1.4 million Norwegians.
YTF Throughout the year, we have worked actively with political influence to promote the interests of our members, both through hearings, meetings at the Storting and through industry programs.
The Labor Department has processed over 1,360 cases, and 12 courses and a meeting have been held with a total of 315 participants.
Everyone should have a shop steward
The Council of Representatives reviewed the budget and action plan for 2026. Deputy Chairman Svein Roger Skoglund presented the plan, which places particular emphasis on: YTF shall be the most visible union within the transport and logistics sector, shop stewards are YTF's most important resource. Therefore, the union shall prioritize getting more shop stewards in the companies our members are organized in.

The 2026 wage settlement on the agenda
On Thursday, the 2026 wage settlement was on the agenda. YS' chief economist Nina Skrove Falck introduced the financial framework, before negotiation manager Marius Træland briefed on the settlement and reviewed the demands that have come from the union's members.
The delegates worked by industry to summarize their wishes for the settlement. The signal from the delegates was clear. The most important thing for the members is real wage growth.
