Knut has been a member of Yrkestrafikkforbundet for 25 years. He joined in 2001, and has since held a number of key positions of trust in the union. He has been, among other things, chief shop steward and department manager at Rema Distribusjon, deputy chairman of the regional board in YTF Logistics, and since 2011 he has been a committed and highly valued member of the federation board.
For more than two decades, Knut showed a burning commitment to his members and the union. He was conscientious and thorough in everything he did, always well prepared and with solid knowledge of both the tariff, the organization and the members' everyday lives. He had a strong sense of justice and stood firm in demanding cases, while at the same time being a listener and concerned with good solutions.
Knut was known for his good collaboration skills. He built trust, created calm in discussions and had the ability to bring people together around common goals. As an employee of Rema Distribusjon Norge AS, at the distribution center in Eastern Norway, he always brought the experiences and perspectives of the logistics members into the board work. For many, he was both a clear representative and a reliable colleague.
Federation leader Trude Sande describes Knut as a pillar in the organization:
– Knut has meant a lot to YTF . He has been a confident and clear voice on the board, with a strong commitment to our members. He was knowledgeable, fair and unifying, and he always took his position very seriously. This is a great loss for us all.
Sande also emphasizes that his thoughts now primarily go to his family:
– Our warmest thoughts go out to Aina and the rest of the family. They are going through a very difficult time, and we send them all our thoughts.
Knut will be deeply missed in Yrkestrafikkforbundet .
