2025 showed a federation that both delivers results and is present for its members. We enter 2026 with a clear mandate from the national conference, new leadership and a strong community.

2025 was a year of important achievements, good organizational work and many issues for the members. Here is a brief summary of some of the main points.

This year's representative council brought together shop stewards from across the country for two days of discussions, priorities and decisions about the work ahead. The meeting provided a clear direction for how YTF will strengthen collective bargaining work, support shop stewards and reach out to more members in the time to come.
On March 12, YTF celebrated 70 years as a union. Our history begins in 1955, when bus drivers founded the Norwegian Bus Workers' Union to secure better conditions and a clearer voice. Since then, the union has grown and developed to organize the entire transport and logistics industry. The anniversary reminded us of what we have stood for over seven decades, and why our work is still important.

In September, over 150 delegates met at YTF's 19th annual national meeting.
– Trude Sande was elected as the new union leader , the first woman in the union's history.
– A new strategic plan for 2025–2029 was adopted, with clear goals for growth, collective agreements and training.
– Six political statements set the direction for YTF's work in the following years, including on 24-hour rest areas, minimum wage, driving and rest times, and seriousness in the industry.
The national conference provided a united and motivated association for further work.
An important result in 2025 was the decision on the minimum wage for van drivers , which will apply from 1 June 2025. The rate will be NOK 222 per hour. This will provide more drivers with safer and more predictable conditions, and strengthen the fight against fraudulent operations in the industry.

YTF launched a new logo, new graphic profile and new websites. The goal is to make information easier to find and the union easier to recognize, both for members and elected officials.
Throughout the year, YTF has assisted members who have experienced incorrect wages, illegal practices or disputes with their employer. In 2024 alone , over NOK 3.5 million in compensation and outstanding wages were paid to members who received help through YTF. This shows how important it is to get in touch early when something is not right.
YTF brought the case of a bus driver who lost his right to AFP after incorrect guidance from NAV. The member lost over NOK 500,000 in pension. The case raised an important question about the duty to provide guidance, and emphasized how crucial correct information is for employees who are in a demanding situation.

During the year, we helped members in a total of 1341 cases :

1138 in consulting
75 in legal matters
128 in collective bargaining and wage cases
The figures show that many people actively use the union in their everyday work.
2025 showed a federation that both delivers results and is present for its members. We enter 2026 with a clear mandate from the national conference, new leadership and a strong community.
Thank you to all members, elected officials and employees who have contributed throughout the year. The work continues.
