Breakdown in negotiations – What happens next?

On Tuesday, we broke off wage negotiations with the Confederation of Norwegian Employers (NHO). We hope to reach an agreement with the employers, but we are preparing for a possible strike.

What happens now?

On Friday, March 28, we will notify the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (NHO) of those affected by a possible strike. All union representatives who may be affected will be contacted by YTF .

We plan the strike together, if necessary.

On Monday, March 31, we will meet with the Confederation of Norwegian Employers (NHO) for mediation. The Ombudsman has set aside two days for the mediation, and we hope to find a good solution.

Strikes are a last resort, but we are prepared if necessary.

If we do not find a good solution, the strike will start on Wednesday, April 2nd at the earliest .

Strike contributions

YTF members on strike receive a strike contribution of NOK 6,336 per week (based on 5 weekdays).

If the strike lasts shorter, you will receive the contribution for the number of days you are on strike.

For example: If the strike lasts 3 days, you will receive 3/5 of the strike contribution.

Part-time employees receive strike contributions according to their percentage of employment.

For example: 70% position gives 70% strike contribution.

Single parents with children under 18 years of age receive an additional 500 kroner per child per week.

Why did we break off negotiations?

We disagree with NHO on three important points:

The size of the salary supplement – how much supplement should you receive?

The distribution of wage growth – how much should be given to all employees?

Low wage supplement – how much should those with low wages receive?

Key additions

YTF requires real wage growth. Wage growth must be higher than price inflation for our members to be able to afford better.

Key perks are given to everyone, regardless of what industry you work in and how much your boss likes you.

Central wage supplements are therefore the most important guarantee for a fair wage settlement.

How much should be given as a central supplement?

NHO wants a low central supplement, and that a large part of the wage increase should be given locally at each individual company.

We know that it is often difficult for union representatives to raise a lot of money locally. That is why we demand that a large part of the wage increase be given as central supplements.

Low wage supplement

YTF We want low-wage employees to receive a good salary settlement. That is why we are demanding a separate supplement for low-wage industries.

We do not agree with NHO here either.
